Ready Bed But Not Ready Weather

20 Dec

Craig is waiting, our bags are packed and flight arrangements have been made. Unfortunately, however, the Denver weather is not cooperating with his air-lift today. Ten to 12 inches of snow are expected with heavy winds, so hopefully we can be flown tomorrow. Joel was a bit disappointed this morning when we got the news, but the nurses promised him a bigger room tonight with a view — he’s excited about that. Claiming the Percasets give him nightmares, he asked for just one last night, but was quite restless and complained of discomfort. This morning he asked for two and thankfully crashed hard — he needs his energy for tomorrow. I talked to his doctor a bit ago, and he changed Joel’s pain meds Hydrocodone, which he said would be better. I’ll post later today after physical therapy.

We are thrilled you are coming to Colorado!!! I (Jennifer) am definitely on the list of what ever you need! I am pretty good at maneurvering around hospitals so whatever I can help with I am there for you all! Prayers continue from all the Bishop’s. Steven says 100% of his emotional support is with you both in thoughts and prayers! All the best for a safe trip to Colorado! The love and support you are receiving should be no surprise to you, as your family has displayed these characteristics to others since we’ve known you. See you soon!

    Erika & Joel,
I posted under “Comments from friends” but I thought I’d throw a comment in here as well to make sure you knew we’ve got Boo and the house under watchful eye for as long as you need! You can call or email at anytime – don’t hesitate if there is anything else you need that we can do for you. 480.968.9415 or 480.529.2447!

    Hey Joel,

Its great to hear that your recovering well. Everyone here is thinking of you and know you’ll pull through like always. So I see you’re coming back to Colorado, I know that Matt, Andy, Jessica, and myself will be making a little trip to Craig to see how your doing. Well have a safe trip, even though we are going through a blizzard at the moment. See you later Joel.
