Monday Dec. 18

18 Dec

This morning I went in to see Joel and Erika having breakfast. He’s really getting good at eating. He’s also changing his positions a lot. I was told he slept well with Erika by his side. He still is trying to get ride of some mucus in his lungs. That and a little pain are the only big things right now. He has had a consitent stream of visitors today, keeping his spirits high.

He still has both chest tubes in and his temperature is still a little high. When I left him he was doing physical therapy, they were going to sit him up again and move his legs.

Erika went back to Phoenix earlier in the day. We are still trying to get the Internet to him so he can see the video on Craig Hospital and get on the blog himself. Mom is at Craig right now, taking the tour of all the facilities. Hopefully we can make this decision soon.

Hey Joel! This “blog” thing seems kind of yuppie and trendy to me, (give me a break, I’m from Nord Dakodah don’ ya know!) but since it is my only contact information for you I guess I’ll give it a shot. I’m ridiculously happy that you are making improvements and I’ll be checking back every day to see how things are coming….and to make sure that you aren’t getting too sassy with the nurses. You’ve propably gotten them to break every rule for you already. Love from N.D.!

In addition you have managed to compell a wonderful young man from Walsenburg to learn how to blog, truly amazing. I want to thank you Bryan and Erika for setting this up and keeping it going, it really helps us who cant be there stay in touch. Keep up the good work buddy and I will continue to check the site and write obnoxious blogs. This is blogging right??
