Dec. 16 Part II

17 Dec

Hey everyone,
Joel had a pretty good day. He was awake when Phill and my mom left around 9 a.m. Saturday. I went back around 11 a.m., and he was sleeping and was in a good deal of pain. Medical staff gave him some medication that put him out. When I got back around 5 p.m., he was finishing up some physical therapy. They were moving his legs, which he liked, and working on his arms. We talked a little and then we just hung out. The nurses kicked me out at 7:15 p.m. for a shift change. When Erika and I got back around 9 p.m., Joel was really out of it. Nurses and doctors had him on a pain medication and a sedative. They gave him the sedative because he was moving around a lot, trying to get comfortable. The nurses say he has a fever, and they drew some blood cultures to see why. Hopefully they’ll know by Sunday morning. He is on antibiotics right now. Were hoping for a good night sleep. Of course he has to, we got the Bronco game to watch tomorrow.

Hey guys! I looked at the Craig Hospital video. It looks like a great, really comprehensive and SCI focused program. I’m jealous that I don’t work there! They seem to have every angle covered. Couldn’t find as much info on the Barrows program. Curious what they offer.
